Two men who offered a Palm Springs house as first prize in a contest for the United States Diabetes Foundation agreed to pay 25,000 to settle a consumer fraud suit in Los Angeles. The foundation directors Mark Miller and Marvin Miller did not admit guilt. The suit claimed the prize scheme was an illegal lottery since entrants paid 1,000 per entry. Fees will be returned or donated to diabetes charities if entrants cannot be located.
