Wizard of Oz lyricist Harburg dies in car crash
Edgar Yip Harburg, famed lyricist for The Wizard of Oz and Over the Rainbow, is reported dead after a Thursday crash on Sunset Boulevard. Police say a possible heart attack caused the head on collision with a second car. Harburg, a New York City native, gained fame with many songs including April in Paris and How Are Things in Glocca Morra. The 1939 Oz score also featured We're Off to See the Wizard and If I Only Had a Brain.
