Reeves County gains new railroad terminal deal
Reeves County will receive a multi commodity terminal along the Pecos Valley Southern Railroad in a lease with Kinder Morgan Energy Partners LP and Martin Midstream Partners LP. The first stage targets completion in May, delivering crude oil transport storage and access to light Louisiana sweet crude, with plans for a frac sand unit train terminal under discussion. Executive Director Bill Oglesby says the project, expected to create about 45 jobs, marks a major step for regional oil and gas activity and local growth. He notes the line has long hauled sand and gravel for the Hoban Pit and Plant near Pecos.
