Swoosh basketball program offers education and escape for Odessa youth
In Odessa, the Swoosh teams at the Boys and Girls Club Woodson Unit provide more than basketball. Leaders Anderson and Smith stress grades, tutoring, reading, and Bible studies while offering travel and discipline to at risk kids from single parent or grandparent homes. They fund trips to California Disneyland through fundraisers, aiming to keep kids out of trouble and focused on future goals.
