Pentagon Papers Publication Battles Reach Supreme Court
The Times and the Post faced government bans over the Pentagon Papers with courts ruling on temporary halts. The Second Circuit allowed publication of most sections but returned some to district court. UT Permian Basin to add Higbee as academic affairs assistant

Seven Robbery Suspects Held In Odessa Case
Seven suspects, two juveniles and five adults, were jailed in Odessa after an armed robbery on South Crane. Victims reported a car following then being attacked by 6 to 8 youths. cash of four dollars, belts, and a satchel were taken. Chacon, Ramirez, Molina, and Armendaraz were jailed quickly. others were later detained. Detectives warned more arrests could follow.

Five Burglary Cases Under Police Probe
Police and sheriff deputies pursued five burglary cases on Tuesday. A resident on Patton reported $30 in change and a $190 check stolen from a bedroom dresser with no forced entry. A Standard Cigarette Co. machine at Andrews Highway was spried open and $26.50 vanished. A repair shop on West Maples was entered through a rear window with two sets of socket wrenches stolen. A trailer home on Kermit Highway was entered through a skylight and a clock radio plus three folding chairs stolen. Smokey Joes Bar on West May reported six six-packs of beer missing after front door forced open.
