Amish drug arrests expose hidden issues in strict community
In Lancaster County Pennsylvania two Amish men Abner Stoltzfus and Abner King Stoltzfus were charged with cocaine dealing linked to a Pagan motorcycle gang. Eight Pagans faced charges for supplying the drugs to Amish youths who attended hoedowns organized by Crickets Antiques and Pilgrims between 1993 and 1997. Local bishops warned churches after a magazine article prompted scrutiny, while residents emphasized ongoing efforts to balance outside contact with their religious rules.
