Library keeps downtown home with air system overhaul
Ector County commissioners decided to keep the Ector County Public Library at its 321 West Fifth Street downtown site and will spend 417000 to upgrade the building's air conditioning. They had considered moving or merging with Odessa College or UT Permian Basin but space and parking issues blocked those options. The five story building, purchased in 1981, was formerly medical offices and officials prefer a single story for easier access.
