Supreme Court voids ban on contraceptive mail ads
The Supreme Court ruled 8-0 that an 1873 Comstock era law banning unsolicited advertisements for condoms and other contraceptives is unconstitutional, allowing drug companies to mail brochures. The decision also addressed auto safety device requirements, while a separate water rights dispute with Paiute Indians over Truckee River flows involved Nevada and farmers.
