Birth in a car as gas lines delay hospital arrival
A Lockhart couple races to St. David's Hospital Austin with only a quarter tank of gas. In heavy traffic and closed pumps they manage to reach the emergency doors where their seven pound son Oscar Ramel Howell is born in the back seat just before arrival. The father later finds a gas station and heads home, stopping at ten stations before finding one open.

Grand jury talked out of indictment in Bullock aide case
