Texas Parks Artificial Reefs Support Gulf Fishery Life
The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department with partners completed a large artificial reef off Port O’Connor, using two sunken oil platforms and 700 limestone pyramids. The 381 acre site, deepest point 66 feet, will be monitored by Texas A&M Corpus Christi researchers who sample and study fish health to guide future seasons and habitat plans.
