Appeals court won't rehear UT admissions case
The 5th U S Circuit Court of Appeals refused a full panel rehearing of the 2008 challenge to UT Austin admissions. In a 9-7 vote the court denied. Dissenters criticized the majority for not pursuing diversity at the classroom level.

ECISD hears on Chapter 313 economic deals and wind projects
ECISD board heard Monk Casey and Associates discuss Chapter 313 economic development agreements and processes if a property value limitation is requested. Texas moves to curb teen sexting with new laws
A 2008 Cyberbullying Research Center study found 19 percent of teens sent explicit pictures online and 31 percent received nude images. From September 1, sexting becomes a misdemeanor with mandatory education on its harms. The Texas School Safety Center will craft curricula with the attorney general, guiding districts on appropriate student age and grade for distribution.
