UTPB dean to teach again in classroom return
Jim Olson, 58, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Texas of the Permian Basin, will resume teaching after ten years in administration. He will offer courses on drugs and behavior and industrial psychology and pursue homeland security research. He joined UTPB in 1973, helping build the faculty alongside President David Watts.

Store accident at Country Store leaves front damaged
A pickup rolled into The Country Store at 7701 West County Road just after 6 a.m. Sunday, shoving the front door and part of the wall into the interior. The driver, a 49-year-old Odessa man, was not cited. fatigue was noted as a factor. Damages are estimated at $5,000. The driver remained at the scene and offered insurance information.

UTPB to Offer Social Work Degree at Permian Basin Campus
The University of Texas of the Permian Basin gains candidacy status for a bachelor of social work degree.
