Train Derails After Collision With Truck Near Lufkin
A Union Pacific freight train traveling 30 to 50 mph derailed eight locomotives and 14 rail cars in Angelina County after hitting a tractor-trailer protruding onto the tracks at 7:55 am. The truck driver, Herbert Orlando Echegoyen, was not injured. two crewmen, Joseph Debruhl and Larry Cullins, were treated for minor injuries. Tracks closed until about 2 pm.
