Sunni tribes ready to face IS in Ramadi after government abandonment
Hundreds of Sunni tribesmen who graduated a crash training course paraded near a desert base ready to battle Islamic State. They watched Iraqi forces abandon Ramadi a month earlier, provoking mistrust toward Baghdad. Officials say counterterrorism units pulled out, leaving tribesmen armed with light safety items. Ramadi fell with 89 Humvees and mortars abandoned. Baghdad faced distrust amid Shiite-led rule and past discrimination.
