Midland College Receives 1.9 Million Hispanic Serving Grant
Midland College has been awarded a 1.9 million dollar grant under the Hispanic Serving Institutions program. The money will come in five yearly installments of 379 207 dollars each. Eileen Pinett said the college applied for and received the grant in March. The grant targets schools with at least 25 percent Hispanic full-time undergraduates and over half of those students low income. The funds will boost student support, academics, and faculty development for underprepared and at risk learners, and support developmental courses and culturally responsive teaching.
