Anne Frank's childhood sweetheart recalls memories in Hackensack
Ed Silverberg now 78 recalls being Anne Frank's boyfriend at 16 in 1930s Germany and the brief time before hiding. He later learned of her fate from Otto Frank and attended events marking what would have Anne's 75th birthday. He shared memories of the Oasis ice cream parlor and the harsh anti Jewish laws, and described his wartime escape with a false ID.
