Pacers owner puts franchise up for sale in Indianapolis
Indiana Pacers owner Sam Nassi seeks a buyer for the NBA club with no fire sale claim. General Manager Bob Salyers said the sale is a voluntary decision and not due to financial distress, while Nassi cited multi year losses exceeding 3 million dollars and noted possible interest from outsiders. He did not set a price, and Salyers emphasized the team will remain in Indianapolis for the 1981 82 season under current ownership.
