PBRPC Finance Officer Implicated in Fund Shortage Case
Crawford said Schroeder denied wrongdoing at first but failed to submit evidence to dispel suspicion. An April report to the PBRPC board led to a cash audit revealing 19,961 dollars misappropriated via an illicit First National Bank account in Odessa. Checks totaling 19,961 dollars were directed to Energy Investments Inc. in Abilene and elsewhere. Schroeder, dismissed, has restitutioned pension funds and paid the remaining balance. The PBRPC serves 16 counties and multiple districts as a funding clearinghouse.
