Chrysler recalls 2.7 million Jeeps after safety push
Chrysler reversed a prior stance and agrees to recall 2.7 million older Jeep models over gas tank fires. NHTSA cited 51 fatalities. Chrysler will inspect vehicles and install trailer hitches to shield tanks. Public relations concerns and cost estimates surround the move as recalls begin in about a month.
