American Legion Texas Convention Set for Odessa in 2011
The Odessa Convention and Visitors Bureau will host the American Legion Department of Texas 93rd Annual Convention June 22 to 26, 2011, drawing more than 800 attendees and an economic impact around 1.2 million dollars. The event spans three groups the American Legion Auxiliary and Sons of the American Legion with three venues and evening entertainment. Tours include the Commemorative Air Force Museum on Thursday and a twilight Vietnam Memorial tour Friday. Chuck Wagon Gang will provide food for the Commander President's Reception. Odessa CVB pursued hotels, attractions, and planners, coordinating with local businesses to prepare for visitors. Officials praised hotel partners for their crucial role in securing the convention.

The Odessa Chamber of Commerce graduates its 32nd Leadership Odessa class.
