Reeves County expands prison capacity near 2000 target
Reeves County is doubling the Reeves County Detention Center from 1,000 to 2,000 beds in a 40 million expansion due by end of 2000. The project aims to add about 180 jobs, bringing staff to over 400, with broader implications for locals, including Anchor West and the school system. Federal and private prisons increasingly fill Texas facilities as inmate populations rise.
