AMA backs self extinguishing cigarette concept
The American Medical Association urged tobacco companies to produce self extinguishing cigarettes to cut cigarette sparked fires deaths and injuries. The resolution endorses the concept though doctors oppose smoking. Specialist Dr Edward Press noted tests and a 300000 annual fire figure and urged safer cigarettes.
