Tulsa minister slain as hitchhike killer hides body
Edward Leon Williams a 26 year old ex convict confessed to killing Rev Tommie Robert Cooke 24 assistant pastor of Glenwood Baptist Church Tulsa. Williams led officers to the Arkansas River area near Taft Oklahoma where the minister was found. Williams said Cooke gave him a ride Sunday afternoon and resisted being bound with rope. The body lay in brush near a dirt road west of Muskogee close to U S 64 after a 24 hour manhunt in the Kiamichi Mountains.
