Crosses mark Montana highways death sites across long state
A Montana road memorial network of white crosses marks fatal crashes from cattle trucks to student accidents. Legions volunteers planted and maintain more than 2000 crosses since 1953, with statewide reach and annual maintenance days. Vandalism is rare but noted.

Missouri bans sexually suggestive billboards near highways
Gov. Bob Holden signed a bill banning sexually suggestive signs promoting strip clubs and adult venues within one mile of Missouri highways. The law targets billboards displaying nude imagery or promoting businesses where workers appear nude or where porn occupies more than 10 percent of the store. Holden argued the measure protects children and reduces driver distraction.
