Flood floods devastate Shadyside area in Belmont County
Gov. Richard Celeste toured the hard hit Belmont County communities after a cloudburst dropped 5.5 inches of rain in 3 ½ hours. Crews searched for survivors along Wegee and Pipe creeks, debris was sifted at Hannibal locks, and a FEMA disaster declaration opened federal aid. A temporary morgue was set up in Shadyside as responders worked through the five mile search zone.
