Dynamite destroyed by Odessa deputies bomb squad
About 300 pounds of unstable dynamite found near a vacant house on East Ridge Road and in a caliche pit east of Odessa Country Club were neutralized and burned by the Ector County Sheriff's Department bomb squad. Five cases were treated with acetone after a 15 year old reported the discovery. The dynamite, left by an unidentified company, leaked nitroglycerin and could have ignited easily. ODESSA POLICE reports note several burglaries and a broken window at Harold's Electronics and other thefts including a Rolex watch, a TV, skis, and cash from local addresses.
