An Odessa man, Robin Dane Allen, 20, drowned Friday afternoon off Corpus Christi while swimming in waist-deep water as a rip current pulled him under. Taekwondo instructor Fabien Nunez recalls Allen as bright, humorous and tall, planning to study music at Texas A&M Corpus Christi and teach taekwondo to pay for classes. His body was found later.
