Divers raise sunken ship cannons near Boon Island
Archaeologists and divers on the Nottingham Galley wreck project raised three cannons on Tuesday and three more on Wednesday from about 22 feet depth off Boon Island Maine. They aim to recover three additional cannons Friday while noting the era 1650 to 1720 and linking the finds to the 1710 Nottingham Galley shipwreck and its famed carpenter rationing.

German shepherds maul boy to death
In Compton California a 5 year old boy named Gilberto Martinez was fatally mauled by three German shepherds while retrieving a ball from a neighbor's yard. The dogs, which attacked after the boy climbed a fence, were removed by animal control as police investigate the case. The boy died three hours after the incident.
