Supreme Court lets UIL camp rule bar high school athletes
The Supreme Court upheld a UIL rule prohibiting Texas public school students from participating in varsity athletics if they attend football or basketball camps. Del Harris, coach of the Houston Rockets, argued the rule infringed family privacy and that other states handle camps more leniently. The 5th Circuit confirmed parents do not have a constitutional right to send children to summer camps.
