Pecos County Commissioners Court unanimously ordered a complete audit of all county operations for 1971 and earlier. Monahans CPA firm Hoyer and Hardisty will conduct the review, with a report due after completion. The last independent county audit was in 1963.

New Rest Area Dedication Near Midland
A new rest area along Interstate 20 in Midland will be dedicated at 10 30 a m Friday. The $229 500 project began in mid December and will be completed tomorrow featuring picnic spaces miniature oil derricks rest rooms overnight camping and trailer dump facilities. The ceremony east of Midland honors Fred Wemple with a luncheon at noon at Hotel Scharbauer. Tickets are 2 50. attendees include Mrs Wemple and many Texas highway officials and association leaders. The Midland Chamber of Commerce sponsors the event and the luncheon doubles as a Midland Jaycees meeting.

Two Sought After Holdup In Local Salesmen Case
Police have no new leads or suspects in Tuesday night armed holdup of two Continental Emsco salesmen Albert Morris Taylor and Windhell Calvin True. The robbers stole 134 dollars in cash after threatening them with a pistol in the firm parking lot. A 19 year old suspect was questioned and released with no charges. The thieves were last seen walking east on First Street.

Summer Students Down For PJCS
Final enrollment figures for the Permian Junior College System show 1,191 students across Odessa College and Midland College for the first summer term. Odessa holds 806 students, Midland 385, with the first summer session ending July 14 and the second running July 17 to August 25. Tornado warnings and storms sweep across Texas coast to Panhandle
Weather dampened North Texas to coast with tornado warnings in Lamb, Lubbock, Hall and Hockley counties though no damage reported. Storms sparked near Abilene San Angelo Fort Stockton and Brownwood Junction Langthorn with gusts to 61 mph at Dyess AFB and 49 mph at Midland.
