Odessa Girl Scouts Report Strong Year and Growth
Odessa Girl Scouts, part of the Community Chest agencies, report over 1,200 registered scouts and 343 adults, with 102 troops this year. The Permian Basin Council covers six districts. Odessa is District 2 and hosts 11 neighborhoods with active events, a large Achievement Tea, Juliet Lowe Luncheon, and a new Camperee this summer. A Mitre Peak summer camp near Alpine offers extensive facilities, 24 hour nursing, and a newly donated 40 acre land plot supporting the program.
