Maples held on bond. ECISD probe leads to indictment

Maples was booked into Ector County Jail on 60 000 bond by 7 40 a.m and bailed out at 2 p.m Wednesday. DA Bland says ECISD police file prompted indictment after reviewing new evidence including text message pictures and online solicitation charges. Maples, a former ECISD educator, faces a second degree felony with potential prison and fines while TEA investigates her teaching certificate. County officials note ECISD polices thorough but unable to file charges previously and will continue cooperation as court action proceeds.
