Solar wind temps soar past 200 million degrees in sun corona
Smithsonian scientist John Kohl reported measurements from the SOHO satellite showing oxygen particle temperatures exceeding 200 million F in the sun’s outer corona. The data, gathered about 310,000 miles above the solar limb, suggest wind speeds rise with distance and may illuminate how solar eruptions affect Earth weather and satellites.

Italian researchers test male birth control with no libido impact
A small human trial shows nine men receiving low doses of hormones to suppress sperm production achieved zero counts in seven participants by week twelve without reducing body testosterone. The study, to be presented in San Francisco, suggests a reversible, libido-preserving male contraceptive using reduced cyproterone alongside testosterone.
