Oil lease tracts sold for millions off Southern California coast
Thirty five federal oil tract leases off the Southern California coast were tentatively sold for 132.3 million to giants Exxon Arco and Chevron. The 9th Circuit had barred 24 disputed tracts pending trial, leaving 140 tracts in play with 105 receiving no bids. Interior will review high bids for fair value and may reject underbidders.
