Council Hears on Skate Park Trees and Funding in Plaza
Councilman James Goates urged shade trees in the plaza skating area to avoid leaf debris and cleanup issues. Patton said the Parks Department will consider trees that shed less, while the Skate Park Development Committee has raised an additional $10,000. Funding remains sought for shade structures, with a Lions Club donation potentially covering three. Benjamin Velasquez was sworn in as District 5 representative, the only candidate in a special election after the death of Councilman Michael Sanchez.
