No such thing as a free lunch incident at Lettuce Entertain You
Chicago AP reports giant bus and subway coupons for Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises led to 100 diners arriving at nine Chicago area restaurants demanding free meals. Posters promised a free meal and even warned authorities dessert, with some posters weighing up to 40 pounds. Rich Melman said the promotion marked the company’s 10th anniversary and the public went far beyond expectations.
