Man buries wife on Prudence Island lawn
Daniel Whalen won town approval to bury his wife Anke on the steep backyard at their Prudence Island home near Narragansett Bay. Neighbors backed the plan as an island cemetery need, with 138 residents and only a storeship presence, and the couple married in Millville, Massachusetts after meeting in Woonsocket. Whalen plans to will the land to his nephew and possibly the Prudence Island Conservancy.
