Hollywood reports Darryl F. Zanuck, veteran producer and 20th Century-Fox executive, has quit as vice president in charge of production, saying businessmen will run studios and releasing will shift toward independent production. He expects studios to act as distributors while he returns to selective, autonomous filmmaking with one project at a time.

Nine Cases Scheduled In MoNaHans Court
A civil docket of nine cases is set for Monday in 143rd District Court and a criminal docket of nine cases is scheduled for June 17. Judge J. H. Starley will preside. Indictments include Jack Guthrie for second offense driving while intoxicated, Ray Summers for three counts of forgery and passing, Raymond Whiteside and J. Ed ward Dunny for burglary of Hawkins Motor Co., Joe R. Allen for second offense driving while intoxicated, Alfredo Visciano for two burglary counts in Grand Falls, and Gene Colwell for forgery.

Fort Stockton special reported four beauty contests at the Fort Stockton Water Carnival July 25-27 at Comanch Springs pool. Ages 3-12 compete first night, ages 13-15 second night, ages 16 and older another night, with Miss Southwest crowned on the final night.
