Baptism Death After Toddler Left in Car in Houston
In Houston a 1 year old boy Nnamdi Chidomerea died after being left in a hot car over an hour following his baptism at St. Vincent's De Paul Church. Paramedics failed to revive him at Rosewood Hospital. Police will refer the case to a grand jury with no charges expected.

Substitute teacher charged with sex assault in Baytown
Baytown police say 30 year old Christopher Crooms, a substitute at Goose Creek ISD since 1993, relationships with a 14 year old girl continued for months. The 15 year old student reported the affair May 31 and police filed charges June 1. Crooms bonded out with a $20,000 bond and faces up to 20 years. The district says he was not under contract after 1998 99. Other Baytown cases involve district staff accused of sexual misconduct.
