Killer fungus menaces California Monterey pines
In Cambria and across California a killer fungus called pitch canker threatens Monterey pines and other species from the Cascade range to the Sierra Nevada. Scientists fear as much as 80 percent of the trees could be lost in 30 years, with the outbreak spreading via beetles birds wind and human activity.
