Odessa Man Dies From Injuries In Motorcycle Crash

An Odessa man died at Medical Center Hospital from injuries suffered in a May crash. Roger Smith, 51, was pronounced dead around 4:15 p.m. Wednesday. The May 29 collision on the service road near East Highway 80 involved a Chrysler PT Cruiser driven by Milton Black, 74, who was cited for failure to yield right of way. The Odessa Police Department continues to investigate. Six road fatalities in 2013 were recorded in Odessa city limits.

Odessa man charged in sex assault of a minor

A 34 year old Odessa man Nathan Edward Jackson 3915 Scott St was charged with sexual assault of a child after police said he was one of two men who assaulted a minor under 17. Jackson posted 50000 bond and denied giving a statement or DNA sample. It remains unclear if a second suspect has been identified.
