Hubble captures birth pangs of distant stars
NASA released Hubble telescope images Tuesday showing the birth of stars up to 1,500 light years away. Jets of superheated gas explode from forming stars at about 300 miles per second, lighting dust and gas into vast, shimmering streamers across space. University of Washington astronomer Bruce Morgan calls seeing the process remarkable.
