Witness affidavit could affect Skelton death case
An Odessa detective and a former Ector County district attorney say a new affidavit by Bob Byard links a Grandview Avenue parking lot sighting to the 1982 Joe Lee Neal car bombing death. The motion for a new trial for John Skelton cites Byard's claim that authorities overlooked his statements before the capital murder verdict and upcoming trials.

Bond Hiked for Slaying Suspect Walter Davis in Odessa
Walter Davis, a self described Bandido, was arrested Thursday at 321 N Whitaker Ave in Odessa on a Louisiana murder warrant. Bond amended to 1.8 million by Municipal Court Judge J E Weatherly after earlier 900000 set by Judge Otis Moore. Davis identified as Killoran after fingerprint test. Authorities say he is linked to a 1983 Baton Rouge murder. About 13 lawmen surrounded the home and took him away peacefully. A man and woman left shortly before arrest but were detained and released. Davis had given the name Howard L Killoran and previously faced three misdemeanor violations.
