Former DA grills in Skelton pretrial case
Former Ector County district attorney Mike Holmes testified in a pretrial hearing over four 1983 attempted murder for hire indictments against John Skelton. Holmes said the indictments were sought because Skelton was believed guilty, not as vindictive, and the judge overruled Botsford’s motions to dismiss. Skelton remains appeals from a 1983 death sentence for a car bombing.
