Twin Ensigns Go To Separate Naval Careers
Twin brothers Spencer and Kenmore McManes graduate as midshipmen from the Naval Academy and receive commissions. Spencer will join the cruiser Toledo based in Long Beach California while Kenmore reports to carrier Hancock at Alameda California. The twins, sons of Rear Adm. Kenmore M. McManes, say they welcome their split assignments and plan to chart individual careers. They note frequent mixups between them at the academy and share a story of unequal extra duty assignments.
