Slayings raise fear along the Appalachian Trail
In Luray Virginia AP reports two hikers were killed near the Skyline Drive area of Shenandoah National Park. Julianne Williams and Lollie Winans were found with throats cut near Dark Hollow Falls. Police and FBI withheld details. The killings mark the eighth and ninth on or near the trail since 1974 amid concerns for lone hikers. Park officials advise caution and personal safety measures. The murders come as national park homicides rise.
