Rallies for UN disarmament talks unite faiths across nation
Thousands of religious leaders including Grandfather David Monongue of the Hopi join a International Religious Covocation and a series of marches, vigils, and a mass rally in Central Park urging nuclear disarmament during the UN session. Events begin Monday with a world peace march from multiple cities led by Japanese Buddhist monks and end with a June 12 Central Park gathering. The effort emphasizes a Biblical call to life and survival of Earth.
