Kit Carson memorial marked in Taos on Memorial Day
Taos NM remembers Kit Carson on Memorial Day centennial of his 1868 death. Descendants, including Kit Carson III, gather in the plaza as a tattered flag is replaced. Carson, explorer, trapper, soldier, and Mountain Man, shaped frontier lore with his quiet, self reliant leadership and frontier battles.
