Border Patrol agent accused in kidnapping and shooting case
U S Border Patrol officer Robert Ferrick, 24, was arrested in Calexico after a 14 year old Mexican boy reported being forced to strip, lie on the ground, and shot at during a three day ordeal. The case cites retaliation for alleged theft of binoculars with Ferrick held on $100,000 bond.

Fourth arrested in spy case in San Francisco area
AP reports a fourth man, Jerry Alfred Whitworth of Davis, is in custody in a long running spy ring involving John A. Walker Jr and family members. Whitworth, arraigned on conspiracy to deliver top secret defense information, joins Walker, Michael Walker, Arthur Walker and others in the case. John Walker and his son faced arraignment in Baltimore. Laura Walker Snyder’s status is unknown.

Haydon setback after suspected stroke in artificial heart case
Murray Haydon, 58, an artificial heart recipient from Louisville, has been in intensive care since March. A hospital spokeswoman said he appeared to have suffered a stroke late Monday with CT and EEG planned to assess brain damage and extent of injury remains undetermined.
