The Globe Theatre presents the popular Sessions with Janie McPhearson Midland’s Hal Goodson Melody and Chere Tone and First Corinthians at 8 p.m. June 6 hosted by Jim McCrary. Admission is 3 adults 1.50 students seniors and 1 children under 12. Also on the bill Judas Priest Frie st Humble Pie and Iron Maiden perform June 6 at 8 p.m. at the Ector County Coliseum with tickets at stores and at the door.

Odessa College director chosen for Kalamazoo festival
Jane Ann Crum theatre director at Odessa College will act and sing at Kalamazoo Festival Playhouse in Kalamazoo Michigan from June 15 to August 8. She has been cast in Sondheim revue Side By Side By Sondheim and in Strider, a new off Broadway musical.

Summer Art Mart Raises Funds For Scholarship Event
Mary Broadwell showcases Mackay Jackson paintings in the 1981 Summer Community Art Mart. The semi annual sale features local arts and crafts with all items under 50 dollars. Held at Babe Griffith courtyard 2307 E Eighth St from noon to 6 pm. Admission is free and proceeds benefit the Art scholarship fund.
Parisian wins 198 Van Cliburn finals
Paris-born pianist Andre-Michel Schub won the Sixth Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in Fort Worth earning $12,000 and a gold medal plus two years of international concert engagements. The 28-year-old was cited for the most consistently superior performances among six finalists from 123 entrants. Second place was shared by Panayis Lyras and Santiago Rodriguez, each receiving $700, fourth went to Jeffrey Kahane.
